Why is Lady Grace closing most of its stores? Despite a large and loyal base of customers along with a very dedicated team of employees, the company has struggled in recent years in an increasingly challenging retail environment. More and more women are turning to the internet for their shopping needs. We love the internet, too, but the internet is not a place where we can leverage our 81 years of knowledge and expertise. Thus, we are converting to a streamlined model to focus our efforts on two primary areas.

What will this streamlined model mean for me? We are expecting to retain one store, likely to be either our existing Woburn or Waltham location. The primary focus of this store will be to service the thousands of breast cancer survivors that we work with each year. We are also hoping to continue to provide bra fitting consultations for the many of you who turn to Lady Grace for that service. All service provided in this store will be on an appointment-only basis so we can ensure that you will have the full devotion of one of our expert fitters. This transition is likely to come in the spring and more details will be shared as we solidify our plans.

What happened to the new store in Newton?
The relocation of our Coolidge Corner store to Newton was beset by numerous delays beyond our control. During this down-time, we took the opportunity to fully reflect on our legacy and where we could best find a niche in today’s retail world. We decided that the streamlined approach, described above, best leverages our 81 years of knowledge and expertise.

When will my store close?
Most stores are expected to remain open for at least several more weeks as we pare down our inventory and make way for our new, streamlined format. We strongly encourage you to call your respective store in advance of your next visit or visit the Store Locations link at ladygrace.com where we will provide up to date listings for each store.

I am a post-breast surgery customer? What happens to me?
Your store is expected to remain open for several more weeks and you will continue to receive all of the wonderful services we’ve been providing including our superior line of products, our certified fitters, and our insurance department that takes care of all your paperwork. Once the store closes, we will be consolidating to a single location and we will provide that information when it is solidified. This location will continue to securely hold all of your medical records and will continue to provide all the same services to which you’ve become accustomed. The only difference going forward is that the new location will be on an appointment-only format to ensure that there is a certified fitter that can be devoted to your needs.

I have a Lady Grace Gift Card. Will it be honored?
Of course! As long as the gift card has been issued in the past seven years (per state law) you can definitely use it to pay for your purchase.

What if I can’t travel to your new store?
Regardless of whether the new store is in Woburn or Waltham, we understand that, for some of you, coming to this store may represent a hardship. In some cases, we may be able to work with you via phone or possibly by our website. Optimally, though, we want to see as many of you as possible in our dressing rooms where we can best identify garments that enhance your comfort and appearance. We’re pretty sure it will be worth the trip!
