Bra Fitting: Hints from our Experts
You’ve seen all the shows on television, now you can get facts from Lady Grace! Fitting generations of women for 70 years! The correct bra makes all the difference! You don’t have to pay a fortune to get a good bra. The most important feature of a bra is fit! If it doesn’t fit, or is uncomfortable you’ll be less likely to wear it! There are many factors, such as weight fluctuations or maturing, that affect bra size and the average woman will wear many different bra sizes throughout her life. As much as we wish it were, measuring for a bra is not an exact science. Nor do all manufacturers fit the same. So, it can be overwhelming and confusing. That’s why we are here! How do you know it's a perfect fit? Here are some guidelines: Band Size: Your band should be comfortably snug. Too large or too small leads to discomfort! Tight bras bind and leave red marks. A loose band will ride up in back. Generally, the back and front of the band should be even and parallel to the floor. Cup Size: The cups should be large enough so that your breasts are contained and don't bulge out. It’s best if the fabric panel between the cups sits firmly against your chest (breast bone), although with some makes and styles, this won't be exact. Underwire vs. Wire-Free, the truth behind the hype:
Anyone can wear an underwire. The key to comfort is fit! Your underwire should not rest against your breast tissue; rather, it should surround and support it. Wire-Free bras can be as supportive as an underwire. The key is getting a style that is appropriate for your size. What style should I wear? This is a personal choice. You may want to have many different bras in your lingerie wardrobe. You may find your favorite sweater looks great with a t-shirt bra under it or a minimizer made that blouse that is a little snug across the bust look fabulous! Remember, not every bra works for every woman! Let us guide you to the perfect fit! How should I care for my bra? You should wash your bra after every use. We recommend hand washing. Never put your bra in the dryer! The heat breaks down the elastics. Do not bleach, iron or dry clean your bra. We recommend Forever New; it is specially designed for fine washables. Whether you need a strapless, post-surgery or a comfortable bra we’ve got you covered!
