Without elastic the straps would too uncomfortable & would dig into the shoulders with every move. Besides, if the bra is the correct size the support comes from the band, not the straps.

Reviewed By: Debbie (McHenry, Maryland) This is a Great Bra for us bustier women but the problem is that the straps need to be wider and not elastic! Why do manufactures not understand this for us big busted women. This bra would be even better if they would do that, does hold you up nice but have to buy one every 4 months cause it wears out faster with the stretch straps.
